Background

Mr. Duncan recently retired as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Atmos Energy Corporation, the nation's largest pure natural gas distribution company. He has held his position for four and a half years, during which time the company has made four major acquisitions, the latest being the acquisition of TXU Gas in October 2004. Under his leadership, Atmos Energy Corporation was named one of CIO Magazine's Top 100 most resourceful IT organizations in 2003 and 2005.

Prior to joining Atmos Energy, Mr. Duncan was Senior Vice President and CIO at Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts. He was also Vice President and CIO at Express, the largest and most profitable division of The Limited where he was chosen as one of the Top 10 CIOs in the retail industry by Retail Technology Magazine in 1998. Mr. Duncan also worked for British Petroleum, both in the United States and in Europe.

He has a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, as well as an MBA from the University of Alaska and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Wichita State University. He has taught Finance and Economics at the University level.

One hundred years ago, Atmos Energy started business as a very small natural gas company serving about 4,500 customers in Amarillo, Texas. Today, our Dallas-based enterprise is America's largest natural gas only distributor. We serve 3.2 million utility customers in 1,500 communities, with regulated operations in 12 states and non-regulated operations in 18 states. The transformation was achieved primarily through ambitious and successful acquisitions.
